Thanks for signing a union authorization card!
Student Researchers United / UAW is a growing group of UC Student Researchers working to form a union. When a majority of Student Researchers signs cards, the California Public Employment Relations Board counts the cards and reviews the petition to form a union. Upon the union’s recognition or certification as the exclusive representative, Student Researchers can then begin bargaining collectively with UC. Student Researchers will not be asked to pay dues until after voting to democratically approve a first contract, and then each individual will decide whether or not to join as a dues-paying member while working as a Student Researcher.
